EVA incentives have been extended through September 2019
Incentives are available for businesses purchasing cars ($1,000), leasing cars ($500), and purchasing e-bikes ($300). About Electric Vehicles Ashland (EVA)
Our goal is to expand Ashland and the Rogue Valley's electric fleet and bring attention to the feasibility and economic benefits of EVs.
Electric Vehicles Ashland
Moving Ashland off fossil fuels, one EV at a time
Electric Vehicles Ashland (EVA) is creating a pool of electric vehicles (EVs) for local businesses and other organizations that provide services in Ashland (e.g. food or floral delivery, real estate, home medical care, food bank, hospitality, etc.). New and low-mileage used vehicles can be purchased by participants, with monetary incentives and a fleet discount from EVA. All residents of the Rogue Valley can participate as well, and will receive the same fleet discounts as businesses.
Incentives
Businesses and non-profit organizations get the following EVA rebate (in addition to state, federal, and city credits):
Cost
EVA incentives (for high mileage businesses) and fleet discounts (for all participants) reduce the cost of EVs
Low mileage (around 10-20k miles) previously-owned cars can cost as little as $4,000 (after the incentive) while new cars are expected to cost $20,000-$40,000. State and federal tax credits of up to $12,500 are available for new car purchases, and up to $2,500 for a used car purchase, depending on eligibility. An additional EVA incentive of $1,000-$2,000 is available for local businesses and non-profits.
Eligibility
Businesses and non-profit organizations are eligible for EVA incentives if the following criteria are met:
New or Used EVs
EVA helps you purchase many makes and models of EVs
Including (but not limited to):
BMW i3
Chevrolet Bolt
Chevrolet Spark EV
Fiat 500e
Kia Soul EV
Nissan Leaf
Smart Fortwo EV
Approximate Price List
These are approximate prices - the exact used vehicle miles and price depend on what is available at the time. New cars are listed by MSRP but fleet discounts will lower the price further. Qualifying businesses and non-profits get an ADDITIONAL $1,000-$2,000 EVA incentive.
You are also welcome to find your own vehicle and still apply for the incentives!
A City of Ashland incentive of $500 for a workplace charger is available through March 2019.

EVA Incentives
If you are one of the first 2 eligible businesses to purchase a car through EVA, you will receive a $1,500 incentive. If you are a non-profit, you will receive a $2,000 incentive.
95g CO2/mile
In Ashland, a gas-powered car produces 381 grams of CO2e (equivalent) per mile while a Chevy Spark EV produces just 95 grams of CO2e per mile.
$12,500 in rebates
State rebates of $1,500-$2,500 and federal rebates of $2,500-$7,500 are available for purchase of new EVs. Additional state rebates of $2,500 are available for new or used EVs for low to moderate income households.
25% of your household emissions
In Jackson county, about 20-25% of household emissions come from cars and light trucks. This can be cut by more than half with an EV.
50% less oil
If EVs were widely adopted, we could cut the nation’s demand for oil in half.
$6,617 saved
If you drive 15,000 miles/yr., you save $6,617 in gas over 5 years.
20 minutes fast charge
With a fast charge port, you can charge many EVs 80% in 20 minutes.
No oil changes!
EVs have no oil or fluids to change, spark plugs or wiring to replace, or emissions tests, saving even more $$.
1,248 charging stations
The state of Oregon has 1,248 public chargers and a goal of 50,000 EVs by 2050.
